Manulife Longevity Symposium
1. I attend Manulife Longevity Symposium yesterday (6 Sep 25) at MBS. I spent the morning there, along with many Seniors. The free breakfast and lunch were generously good.
2. Manulife, like AIA Vitality, launched its "Manulife Move" yesterday.
3. The Symposium has 2 parts; 3 panels sharing on the perspectives; amongst:
* MP Jasmin Lau who was ex-DS(P) MOH.
* Dr Chong, MD HCA Hospice
* Dr Tanujaa, oncologist, Parkway
4. Four Takeaways:
* Plug in and join early in these Communal events, They are meant for us. If you dont join in now, what makes you think that you will join later, when much older? Build friendships now.
* Eating 25g nuts (not peanuts) daily can extend your life by 1.5 years. Sleep 30min more each day another 2.5 years.
* Beyond health and wealth, the end-game is: Do you have a fulfilling life?
* Rewirement, not retirement mindset. Think this is an important mindset for our aged Seniors. "Many wait to live & die at home".

5. I also took some notes from one Panel:
*Small habits make big differences
*Long life learners: Healthhub, keep learning of our body
*Live longer for a purpose; motivation; starts with making friends
*Sleep well
*Good financial presence and living with good comfortable to enjoy finance assets
*Take ownership of our own schedules
*Acquiring new knowledge; digital solution and tools for social engagement.
*Start early in finance planning, long term investing.
*Making life time choices and engagement.
*Develop emotional balance early

6. I happened to meet my 70-yo retired neighbor who shared his retirement keep-fit regime. I learned a new app "Otter" which records, translates & summaries the presentation.
7. It was an insightful day. Also a day which added some CHATGPT cartoons from the Symposium. It surely added an "event" idea for my future Rewirement learning.
